Non diegetic -  Eerie background music as Coraline moves through the tunnel. The music helps create a mysterious, dreamlike atmosphere and makes the journey feel magical but slightly unsettling. It creates anticipation because the audience is curious about where the tunnel leads and what Coraline will discover.  Diegetic -  The sound of the mice in Coraline’s room and her walking down the stairs are all examples of sound that Coraline herself can hear. These sounds make the journey feel more physical and immersive contrasting   with fantasy like music. Parallel Sound- The eerie music matches the scene to create mystery of what the door may lead to and whether Coraline may encounter danger as the music may suggest. The relationship between the music and visuals builds anticipation and reinforces the sense that Coraline is entering somewhere unfamiliar.  Contrapuntal sound-  The setting is still very unknown and quite eerie and all of a sudden you ca...

Mise en scene video feedback and learner response

 1. WWW: Makeup and costume identical to original Acting was good Accents to match original Planned well EBI:  Filmed in an actual canteen 2. WWW: Backing track Different camera angles EBI:  More specific shot list  3.  What went well:    I think my video went well because my makeup and costume were very similar to the original scene, which helped make the recreation more realistic. I think my acting was also good  as i tried to replicate their accents and expressions from the original. I planned the scene well before filming, which made the filming process easier. The backing track worked well and helped make the scene more similar to the original. I  also used different camera angles, such as wide shots and close ups to match the original scene and make my recreation more accurate. Even better if: To improve my video, i could have been more specific when creating my shot list. This would have made it easier to know exactly which shots and c...
